ABOUT THE STUDY

%

of smokers want to quit...

most

just aren’t

ready.

Ready or not, we invite you to join a pilot test of a new app to help people take a new look at smoking.

If you are eligible, you may take part in a nationwide study funded by the National Institutes of Health. There is no cost to take part and we will pay you for your time. You may also find that taking part in this project is interesting and helpful to you.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

Your feedback will help us make improvements to the app so that other smokers will find it helpful.

By joining the study, you will:

  • Answer a brief screener. If you are eligible, you’ll be asked to download the refresh app.
  • Complete a survey on your tobacco use. It should take about 10 minutes.
  • Receive daily text messages and complete brief activities through the app over the next 30 days.
  • Talk with your health care provider at your upcoming appointment about your answers to the questions in the survey and the app.
  • Complete a second survey in about 30 days to give your feedback about your experience with the app. If you don’t complete the survey, someone from our team will call you to complete it by phone.
