South Kingstown, RI – January 23, 2014.
Pro-Change Behavior Systems, Inc. and Healthstat have signed a five-year agreement that will set a new standard for population health management through onsite clinics. The agreement allows Healthstat to exclusively combine its nationally recognized workplace healthcare delivery model with Pro-Change’s evidence-based health behavior change algorithms. Doing so makes Healthstat the nation’s only onsite health clinic provider with access through its electronic medical record system to the most effective employee engagement and behavior change solution currently known.
This comprehensive and integrated solution will enable participants to achieve the highest level of health and well-being while allowing employers to maximize improvements in health, productivity, and healthcare cost reduction. It will also inspire healthcare providers to fulfill their holistic desire to engage and improve patient health.
Employers and their participants will benefit from this unique collaboration as Healthstat’s clinicians engage individuals in proven behavior change practices tailored to each patient’s unique readiness to change. By April 1, Healthstat clinicians and coaches are expected to have completed extensive training on the Transtheoretical Model and Pro-Change’s online behavior change tools, at which time the new model will be launched.
Healthstat is the country’s most innovative onsite health promotion and wellness provider and operates more than 300 clinics nationwide. As one of the pioneers of onsite health services, Healthstat is active in healthcare reform, an active member in the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) and the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO), and is the only exclusive onsite health provider to be accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
The capabilities that Pro-Change brings to Healthstat are:
- A more accurate and valid Health Assessment survey that includes scientifically-based questions to determine a patient’s readiness to change;
- Clinical staff training in the science and techniques of the Transtheoretical Model;
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) protocols that prompt clinicians to interact with and coach patients based on their readiness to change;
- Customized, tailored messaging to support patients in their efforts to change health behaviors.
“Too many healthcare providers focus their energies on treating symptoms of illness and disease instead of getting to the core of the issue, which is changing behavior and helping people become more engaged in their health and well-being,” explains Healthstat CEO Crockett Dale. “Having rights to electronically integrate the Pro-Change programs within the Healthstat system can help make Healthstat the on-site clinic industry’s best solution to maximizing improvement in health, productivity, and healthcare cost reduction.”
